Judge Rules DOJ Unlawfully Fired Maurene Comey

A federal judge ruled that the Justice Department unlawfully fired Maurene Comey, a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, in July 2025. The judge found her dismissal illegal, and ABC News reported that she was reinstated. Comey had sued the DOJ, claiming the firing was politically motivated and without explanation.
