Nepal-Tibet flash floods

Flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border have killed at least 543 people—538 in Nepal and five in Tibet—with more than 1,500 still missing, according to the latest reports. The floods, triggered by a massive glacial collapse in the Himalayas on Wednesday, swept away roads, bridges and villages. Rescue operations resumed but were halted in Tibet after a newly formed barrier lake raised fears of a second flood.
