Castle Douglas emergency

Storm Boelo kills two and cuts power across UK

Storm Boelo has battered the UK with winds up to 84mph, killing at least two men after being hit by falling trees, including a 60-year-old near Castle Douglas in Scotland. More than 82,000 properties lost power, with over 4,000 homes in Cumbria and north-east England still without supply. The Met Office issued a fresh wind warning from 18:00 on Monday for the west coast of England, Wales, Scotland and eastern Northern Ireland.
