Bald Range Wildfire Spreads in British Columbia

A fast-moving wildfire known as the Bald Range fire is burning out of control in British Columbia, Canada. It has spread across more than 36 sq miles (95 sq km), or more than 25,000 acres, and forced the evacuation of about 18,000 people. Officials said the fire expanded by more than 2,000 acres in about an hour at one point. A state of emergency has been declared.
